JLT Employee Benefits has hired Tony Pike as head of sales in its investment consulting business.

Pike, who had previously been head of UK sales and business development at Willis Towers Watson's institutional investment practice since 2012, joined the company on 22 August.

He is responsible for JLT's investment and delegated consulting services for both existing and new clients.

Chief executive Bala Viswanathan welcomed Pike's knowledge and previous experience.

"Tony is an outstanding addition to our investment consulting business," he said. "He comes with depth of specialist knowledge in the fiduciary management and investment arena, and a glowing track record as a consultant, making him an excellent fit with our client-centric specialist culture. I am delighted to welcome him to our team."

Pike was also previously an investment principal at P-Solve from 2005 to 2011, and an investment principal at Aon Consulting from 1999 to 2005. From 1987 to 1999 he was a senior consultant at William M Mercer, which has since been renamed Mercer.
