US -The US$196bn California Public Employees' Retire-ment System (CalPERS) has slammed calls by California assemblyman Keith Richman (pictured) for an external audit of the fund as "unnecessary".
A CalPERS spokesman said financial statements relating to retirement benefits were independently audited every year and the audit submitted to the State Controller's Office and to the Legislature. ...
