Pensions Administration Standards Association (PASA) chair Kim Gubler has hit out at schemes failing to make headway with their data.
In an exclusive interview with Professional Pensions, Gubler said that, despite the looming deadlines for onboarding to the pensions dashboards, there were still schemes making no progress on data.
But while admitting some schemes are struggling with the volume of work, she has "little sympathy" for those with poor data.
Gubler said: "I have little sympathy for schemes that have poor data. PASA every year has said look at data and get it right but it's still not a priority for some - but they have to now. Dashboards are going to happen, so we need to make sure we don't lose momentum."
Despite murmurs from the industry that the timeline for the dashboards project is too ambitious, Gubler contends this.
"The timeline isn't too ambitious but people need to stop talking about it and actually start to move. If they are a master trust, they should be making appointments and minuting decisions not just talking about what their options are.
"We don't want to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The project has been moving fairly positively despite so many people saying it's not going to happen. We need to support that so the dashboards can support people because that's the reason for them."
