James Finch: Our sixfold growth demonstrates the strength of client demand

Mobius has reported a sixfold increase in private market assets under administration (AUA) on its platform, driven by growing defined contribution (DC) demand.

The platform provider said the substantial increase in demand for private market investments had seen its AUA in this area rise from around £200m to £1.2bn over the past five years.

Mobius said private markets had long been a component of its platform for institutional defined benefit (DB) pension clients but noted the recent surge in demand had primarily come from its DC institutional client base, with it expecting that self-invested personal pension (SIPP) scheme demand would follow in the near future.

Chief executive James Finch said: "Private markets continue to play an increasingly important role in institutional portfolios. Our sixfold growth demonstrates both the strength of client demand and the investment we have made in providing a flexible and operationally robust platform. We are committed to giving clients simple and efficient access to high-quality private market opportunities."

Mobius said it had expanded its platform capabilities as a result of the increased demand – developing end-to-end investment and administration infrastructure that enables its entire client base of DC, DB and SIPP investors to access a range private market asset classes and structures.

Finch said: "Mobius provides a flexible investment solution that allows clients to invest in private market funds regardless of structure. While long-term asset funds continue to gain attention, our platform is designed to support any fund structure that meets a client's objectives. This includes closed-ended vehicles, open-ended funds, limited partnerships, and a broad range of specialist structures."

He added: "This approach removes complexity for institutional investors. Mobius handles the operational demands associated with private markets so that clients can focus on strategic decision-making."
