Wayne Phelan: This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to new markets beyond pensions governance.
Vidett has announced the acquisition of corporate governance firm Bridgehouse Company Secretaries in a move it says demonstrates its clear intention “to be a leader in the governance market”.
Bridgehouse was founded in 2005 by Ibi Eso, who will continue to lead the business as managing director. It specialises in outsourced corporate governance, risk and regulatory compliance services.
Vidett said the acquisition will enable both firms to offer more, valuable services and improve efficiency through effective use of shared technology, tools and systems to help clients develop effective boards and deliver future value.
Vidett Group chief executive Wayne Phelan said: "We're excited to welcome Ibi and the Bridgehouse team into the Vidett group. This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to both Bridgehouse's existing market and client base and, for Vidett, to new markets beyond pensions governance.
"Together, we'll bring an unrivalled pool of knowledge and experience to support clients' governance needs and will enhance our ability to be the employer of choice in a competitive governance market."
Eso added: "This acquisition is such a positive step for me and my team at Bridgehouse. Being part of a stronger, more resilient business means we can invest for our future – in services, technology and people."
She continued: "One of Vidett's greatest strengths is their people. What struck me was their passion for their team, desire to offer excellent client service, their values and an unwavering commitment to support us in this next phase of our company. Together, we can bring to life our vision for governance services in the future."
